Trinity College Nabbingo (TRICONA) was founded in 1942 by the White Fathers, a Roman Catholic society of apostolic life. TRICONA was established, as an all-girls boarding secondary school: Senior 1 - 6 (age 12 - 18) in central Uganda. This was after realising that the secondary education of Catholic girls needed to be addressed as well.
The college is located on a hill in the village of Nabbingo, in Wakiso District. This location lies approximately 12 kilometres (7.5 mi), by road, southwest of Kampala, Uganda’s capital and largest city. This location lies off the Kampala-Masaka Highway.
Objectives & Mission:
To produce educated women who are “morally upright”, “academically sound”, “socially and physically capable” of serving God and their country.
To Date:
The school has renovated most of the older buildings and built new, storied, larger and modern classes and laboratory for senior two with health and safety in mind. Alongside that there is a modern sports field with lawn tennis, basket ball and wood ball courts as well as a football field. A new school bus was acquired to further improve the students’ academic and social life. Many new trees have been planted as well for environmental benefits.
